Anointed to birth solutions!

As I delve deeper in the story of Daniel, I find that my perspective on God is rapidly changing. Daniel really partnered with God in his ministry and had no doubts about God called him to do. He kept pushing forward and trusting that God would take him where he needed to be, no matter how daunting things became!

Today I am focusing on Daniel 2, in this chapter the King had been experiencing disturbing dreams and he sought to find answers to it. He called up on all the wisest men and advisers in the kingdom to bring up interpretations but there was an interesting twist to this. He told them they had to able to tell him what exactly the dream was and what it meant. The people tried to manipulate him into telling them what the dream was about but he stood firm on his stance. Eventually they gave up and told him that his request was impossible so he gave a decree for them to be executed which included Daniel and his three friends.

Note this, in the bible passage, Daniel did not go and hide away in his room in fear of the death sentence. He used wisdom and sought to find out what exactly the problem was. The first lesson, I want us to take from this, is the fact that when we are faced with new challenges that is not the time to hit panic zone. This is the season where you make effective use of wisdom as that would help you make the right decisions, this is exactly what Daniel did. After Daniel was briefed about the issues, he immediately went to see the King and asked for more time to get an interpretation. This is what made him different from others, he did not jump up and claim to know it all, he decided to step back and meditate on the issue before speaking. How many of us take time to reflect over issues before making moves? Sometimes we rush out to do things because we want to impress people but most often than not, we end up failing. Our aim should never be to impress people but rather find ways we can be make effective impact by applying wisdom in all that we do.

Daniel understood that he could not arrive at the interpretation by himself, he needed to seek the wisdom of God on the matter:

“Daniel returned home and told his three friends.  Then he said, “Pray that the God who rules from heaven will be merciful and explain this mystery, so that we and the others won’t be put to death.”

Daniel 2:17-18

Daniel understood the ways of God and he knew that in everything he had to consult with him first as we saw in the previous study. He knew that God would not bring him this far and leaving him hanging, how many of us have this resolve? Sometimes God gives us a breakthrough and challenges hit, we begin to get cold feet and declare that God has left us to suffer but this is not the case. You need to understand who your Father is and the only way you can do that is by meditating on the word of God and spending quality time with him. The reason why you are able to trust your beloved or spouse is because you have made time to understand who they are. You are well aware of their weaknesses and strengths. This knowledge equips you defend them when the world turns against them. If we made time to know God on a deeper level, when issues or challenges come up, you can rise up and stand on the anchor of His word.

Daniel prayed and the Lord delivered an answer in the form of a vision. Daniel’s obedience to God from the very beginning had caught the attention of God. Daniel was not just an ordinary worker in the Royal court, he was there representing God and God had to make sure that His name was not sullied. Daniel was prompt to do what God asked of him and so God could not delay. When you obey the Lord in everything, He is prepared to rise up on your behalf and ensure all your needs are met!

Once Daniel received the revelation, he went before the King and told him all he needed to know. Daniel did not move out based on what he knew, but he moved based on the revelation that God gave him. Too many of us, are moving in the realm of what we know and not what God has revealed to us. This is because sometimes we do not have the patience to wait on God speak to us on what to do, we would rather run ahead of Him! Everybody has knowledge, but not everyone can sit down and mediate on things to receive the revelation that we need for that particular issue. Revelation gives you a sense of direction and you always hit the bullseye if only you follow God’s leading.

Daniel’s action not only saved the lives of the wise men but also brought glory to the name of God. It caused the King to bow down and give reverence to the name of God:

“The king said, “Now I know that your God is above all other gods and kings, because he gave you the power to explain this mystery.”  The king then presented Daniel with a lot of gifts; he promoted him to governor of Babylon Province and put him in charge of the other wise men.  At Daniel’s request, the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to high positions in Babylon Province, and he let Daniel stay on as a palace official.”

Daniel 2:47-49

Sometimes people don’t just need to hear the word of God coming out of your mouth, they also need to see the power of God at work. Every time you walk into the midst of people, you must know and understand that you are representing God in all your endeavors, His name is at stake! You must make sure that you are living your life according to the perfect will of God. Your attitude towards issues can draw people closer to God or away from Him.

Daniel did not think of himself but the other people that were involved. I believe that because his motives were pure that is why God decided to give him an overwhelming breakthrough out of it. He was promoted to the position of Governor of Babylon and through that he requested for his friends to be promoted to. Daniel was by far not only a pacesetter for the Kingdom of heaven but also a selfless and wise leader. My next question to you is this, what do you do when the Lord promotes you? What are you doing with the influence you have? Are you treating those around you with love? Daniel knew that he did not just receive the revelation by chance, but it was also through the intercession of his friends. He remembered to acknowledge them for their help rather than hoard the blessings released to them.

Daniel demonstrated to the world that he was not just anointed but also a problem solver, this is how God has created us to be. We are not just meant to sit in the midst of problems and lament about it, we have to literally partner with God to bring solutions. Many of us are failing in different areas of our lives because we have failed to partner with God. We want to do things our own way, without considering what the thought or plan of God might be. Invariably what happens is that when you hit a rough patch, you find yourself complaining and lamenting. Challenges will come up in life, but God does not expect you to run away, He expects you to rise up and put His word to work. A classic example is when Jesus was asleep in the boat with the disciples and the storm came along. Jesus did not shout at them to get up and run, He got up and spoke the word of God over the issue. You don’t run away from a challenge, you face it head on with the word of God as your sure tool for victory. Children of God must arise like Daniel did, and bring solutions to this dark and dying world. We are in the end time, it’s about time that we stand out as children of the most high! Instead of hiding and complaining, we must rise up and pick up the cross of Jesus Christ. We must let the world know that indeed Christ still sits on the throne, we must be fearless and unapologetic about the word of God!

As I draw today’s post to an end, I want you to ask yourself this question, what kind of character do you display in the midst of challenges? Are you a whiner or problem solver? Whatever your answer may be, I do pray that you draw closer to the Lord to help you build the capacity you need to be a problem solver in the midst of challenges!

I do hope that this post has blessed you! Please do well to leave your comments and share with friends! God bless you!
